She'd long ago accepted that the world was built on lies
And if evil must prevail it might as well be on her grave
So she let them hang her up and history would carve her name

And the harbinger of death himself at once was filled with shame

But if the flames of hell discriminated action from intent
Poor Geoffrey swears it to this day he would be heaven sent

Diane she joined politics, she thought she'd make a change
In March they asked her questions on an electoral stage
And a reporter with a cross who seemed real good but not so bright
Asked her if she walked with God, if she stood within his light

And she thought for a moment, considered all her answers
To poll in Alabama she'd need support from all the pastors
Diane was not religious but she knew a saint who was
A saint who she admired, who fought for holy cause
